Enola-Autumn's Newsletter 3 - Tattoo Tea Party

The latest Against the Grain Artshow took us to Tattoo Tea Party at Event City, Manchester this March, and what an amazing show it was! I'm proud to say it was my biggest curatorial project to date, too!

Thank you to Neil for inviting us to be a part of his incredible show, thanks to all the artists who were a part of this Against the Grain show, and thank you also, to everyone who came to see the artwork we had on display.

Here are a few photos, for those of you who couldn't attend. We had a great weekend in what was my biggest exhibition to date! And better still, this event was baby Corban's first arty adventure! It was such a rewarding challenge to be able to successfully curate this show with a 7 week old baby in my arms and post-pregnancy hormones aplenty! So thank you, everyone!

Please don't forget to visit the web pages of the amazing artists we had involved at the Against the Grain! Follow the links to the right.

As an extension to the Against the Grain show, we have some exciting new work to talk about. I'd like to share a couple of artists in particular;

Sculptor Chris Peacock, showcased some of his new work at Tea Party. The phatcap seat, which is coming soon and will be available to purchase both in customisable form, and as limited edition collaborations. Watch this space.

Another artist worth a check is Rebeeca Reed; who is always working on new arty projects, give her a follow on Instagram.

Both Chris, and Rebecca will have work at Cardiff Toy and Tattoo convention in September.

I'd also like to recommend, Alex Spencer, who is another artist always working on new pieces.

I am excited to be a part of Alex's next exhibition, Old Bones Emporium, which will be at Howe Street, Edinburgh June 6-12th. Corban's first trip to Scotland! I am working on some new small-scale mixed-media pieces for this show and I'm excited to get back into my art after giving birth.

Please keep an eye on my big cartel for new works available for purchase, and treat yourself to some artwork! Any parents out there will appreciate that every little helps so thank you in advance for any purchases! Commissions welcomed, too!

I will be uploading sale originals, like this red fox, when I get the chance so please keep checking.

Oh, and I'd like to introduce baby Corban, who is now 3 months old!

Thanks for reading – talk to you all soon! Pauline

Enola-Autumn's Art Newsletter #2

Hi again!

Just a quick one to welcome all the new art enthusiasts – and a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended our latest exhibition!

FEATHERS OF INSPIRATION: THE BIRD ARTSHOW, YORK

  • We have taken down the install in Rogues Atelier as we see the Bird exhibition come to an end. Thank you everyone for an amazing show! I'm sure you'll agree that all of the artists created a hugely inspirational exhibition and christmas pop-up shop! The standard was so high! I'd like to thank everyone that came down and made it into the success it was!
  • As an extension to the show, (and for anyone who couldn't attend), I have set up an online pop up shop, giving you the chance to buy artwork and accessories with your Christmas pennies!

  • The sales help fund the next arty venture, so please, do your part this Christmas and buy from independent artists and traders like ourselves!
  • A few of our artists will also be submitting their bird-inspired artwork to the wonderful project which first inspired my themed exhibitions; Out Of Step Books.
They publish art books and donate funds which help keep art in schools despite budget cuts that affect the arts. Please support this brilliant cause if you can.

NEXT EXHIBITION
  • Tattoo Tea Party is next, don't forget.
  • ARTISTS – please submit your interest NOW if you'd like to be involved!

CHRISTMAS ORDERS
  • Possibly a little tight to get Christmas orders to you now, but if you get at me immediately and it's something I have already in stock I can still get your order to you – be quick! Posting Thursday 19th!
Don't forget that Christmas Cash in the new year – treat yourself! :-)
  • Happy Christmas and have a great New Year everyone!

If you don't want to receive this newsletter, please let me know and I will unsubscribe you from the mailing list. Thanks!

Enola-Autumn's Art Newsletter #1

Welcome to my first ever newsletter!

I always have a lot of arty things to tell you about, so I figured I'd keep it all nice and neat in a newsletter for a change!

NEW WORK

  • New prints of old work - Roses coming soon. I'm printers-dependent on this one, but I'll try and release these in time for Christmas orders, register your interest and i'll add you to the list.
  • Feathers of Inspiration!! For the bird show, I'm really playing around with abstract layers and texture, working a little bit out of my comfort zone with some more graphic-based layers, too! Watch this space!
  • I'm also working with textiles this month! Bird plush and hanging mobiles! Hopefully ready for Decembers exhibition.

CHRISTMAS COMMISSION DEADLINE

  • I've time for just a few commissions now, maybe 5 or so – I'd love to do some loose sketchy portraits like the one shown above. Set price of £75 for an A4 original, get your orders in before 20th Nov. That's a tight deadline, too!

UPCOMING SHOWS

  • We will be exhibiting in Rogues Atelier, Fossgate. Huge thank you once again to Jo for all the support! Please also be sure to check out Rogues Atelier based fine artist, Elise Bikker, who will be exhibiting some of her bird-inspired work with us!
  • £2 admission, preview evening Friday 6th Dec. Open all weekend 7-8th Dec.
  • You're all invited, please spread the word!

FUTURE EVENTS

  • Tattoo Tea Party at Event City in Manchester is the next big exhibition in March 2014, where I will be hosting my Against the Grain art exhibition.
  • Artists, if you'd like to be involved, please register your interest now and I'll keep you up to date in the new year.
Right, I think that's it for arty updates for now! Personal news sees me at week 31 of pregnancy (scary!) and currently juggling the paint brushes in front of my massive belly!
The next newsletter will be in the new year – apologies in advance if it contains nothing but baby-brain'd gibberish! :-)

Happy Christmas and have a great New Year everyone! Hope to see you at the Bird Art show soon! xxx
